I've never worked with a designer, how do I get this process started and what should I expect?
Some people know exactly what services they need, some have not a clue, others think they know but have no idea. So, we start with a conversation; I think this goes without saying but Im going to say it anyways, that conversation is complimentary. I ask you certain questions to understand your situation and the task(s) at hand, you ask me questions like "how much is this going to cost me" or "what if I don't like you, do I have to keep working with you", and we figure out what the next steps are. Usually we move forward agreeing on a plan and excited to get to work. I will always let you know what to expect from me pending our next steps, and what I expect from you so there are no surprises or hidden agendas. Communication is key in our working relationship.
What is your creative process?
Since Sally has different needs from Harry, describing my creative process is difficult until I understand what it is you need. There are certain processes and phases depending on where you are in your business journey and what creative project we are tackling, which I'll be describing in great detail during our initial or second interaction. Generally speaking, the process is some form of this...
Conversation > Inspiration + Strategy > Design Development > Finishing Touches
How much are your branding services?
That's a loaded question. To start, Ive carefully designed branding packages based off the industry you're in. For example, a blogger/influencer will need a media kit but a physical therapist probably doesn't even know what a media kit is nor will they benefit from it. Once we have our initial conversation I will be able to tell if you fall into these pre-made packages. If not, we basically create your own branding package that suits your business needs. You can add-on or take off what you want. Think of it as an acai bowl with staple toppings, except you get to add as many toppings as you want! "Hi, yea, I'll take the Hapa Bowl with extra granola, some coconut flakes, kiwi, strawberries, mangos, blackberries, raspberries..." you get the point. Have a one-time service project? No problem. I'll just need the details and I can quote it out for you based off that information.
What is the best way to reach you?
Email to start and then we usually become phone buddies.
I hired another company to do my branding and things didn’t work out. Would it be a problem if you picked up where they left off?
Not at all. This happens more often than you think, and I am more than willing to hop right in where you left off. You will just have to catch me up to speed!
What should I get you as a 'thank you' gift?
I get this question a lot so I thought I'd put it out there. As much as I love sweets, whiskey bourbon or rioja red wine is the way to my heart. Or a good cappuccino if you want me to love you forever. If you're an artist of any craft, a small token of your work means more to me than anything you could buy.
